About Soma

The meaning behind our name.

Soma means body. The name reflects what guides our work: emotional well-being can't be fully separated from what we live in the body. Thoughts, emotions, relationships, and physical experience keep shaping one another, and lasting change usually involves all of them.

Our Mission & Vision

Our Mission: Healing That Honors the Whole Person

To offer compassionate, integrative, trauma-informed psychotherapy that honors the connection between mind, body, and emotional well-being, helping individuals and couples understand their experiences and change the patterns that hold them back.

Our Vision: A More Connected Way of Living

A way of healing that embraces the whole person, where people feel safer within themselves and build lives grounded in authenticity, resilience, and meaningful relationships.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Healing Beyond Insight. Toward Transformation.

Insight Is a Starting Point

Knowing where a struggle comes from matters. But the body can keep reacting in old, protective ways even after the mind understands.

The Body as a Resource

The body is not only where distress shows up. It is also a source of awareness, resilience, and connection.

Becoming More Yourself

Healing is not about becoming someone different. It is about reconnecting with who you are and leaving behind patterns that no longer serve you.

Our Approach to Therapy

No single approach fits everyone. Depending on each clinician's training and your needs, therapy at Soma may draw on:

Trauma-informed psychotherapy · Somatically informed therapy · EMDR · Brainspotting · Attachment-based and relational approaches · Cognitive and emotional processing · Individual and couples psychotherapy

Always at your pace, with your goals and autonomy at the center.
