Individual Therapy
A space to understand yourself, navigate life's challenges, and create meaningful change.
Sometimes, life feels overwhelming even when everything appears to be going well on the outside. Perhaps you're struggling with anxiety, questioning your relationships, or noticing patterns that you can't seem to change. You don't have to wait until things become unbearable to seek support.

What Is Individual Therapy?
Individual therapy is a collaborative process that provides a confidential, supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and life experiences without judgment. But therapy is more than having someone listen. It's an opportunity to understand the deeper patterns that influence how you think, feel, and respond to the world around you.
You may recognize that you struggle with boundaries, yet still feel guilty when saying no. Perhaps you understand why certain relationships aren't healthy for you, but find yourself repeating familiar dynamics. At Soma Counseling Center, we recognize that insight alone doesn't always create change.
What Can Individual Therapy Help With?
Anxiety and chronic stress: understanding patterns of worry, overthinking, and emotional overwhelm while developing healthier coping strategies.
Depression and emotional disconnection: exploring sadness, low motivation, self-criticism, and difficulty feeling connected to yourself or others.
Relationship difficulties: recognizing attachment patterns, strengthening boundaries, and developing healthier ways of connecting.
Self-esteem and personal identity: addressing perfectionism, people-pleasing, and deeply held beliefs about your worth.
Life transitions: navigating changes in relationships, careers, family dynamics, motherhood, or personal identity.
Grief and loss: processing difficult emotions associated with significant losses and life changes.
Together, we work to develop greater self-awareness, strengthen emotional regulation, and explore new ways of responding to life's challenges.

Our Approach to Individual Therapy
As Unique as You
We believe therapy should be as unique as the person seeking it. Our clinicians integrate traditional psychotherapy with attachment-informed, cognitive, interpersonal, and somatic approaches according to each client's needs.
Thoughts, Past, and Body
Some sessions may focus on understanding your thoughts and emotions. Others may involve exploring childhood experiences, relationship dynamics, or how stress and emotional experiences manifest in your body.
Choices That Feel Like You
Our intention is not to tell you how to live your life, but to help you develop the awareness, resources, and confidence to make choices that feel more aligned with who you are.
